First tandem meeting

Don't you know how to get prepared for your first language tandem meeting? Below you can find a list of things you should do before your meeting to make the start of the exchange a success.

1. Read your language tandem partner's profile carefully.
 
2. Check your language tandem partner's target language level in their profile.
 
3. Check your language tandem partner's interests and learning goals in their profile.
 
4. Choose one topic to start a discussion with your language tandem partner. The discussion topics are divided into levels A0-C2 and may be found in Discussion topics in the Language Tandem library.
 
5. Choose some materials for the meeting. The materials are divided into languages and levels and may be found in the Resource Bank in the Language Tandem library. The materials are organised into video, listening, grammar and vocabulary.
 
6. Give your language tandem partner homework by choosing 1 or 2 exercises as a short revision of what has been discussed during the meeting. 
 
7. Schedule future meetings with your language tandem partner. It is advisable to meet at least once a week for 45 minutes at the same time. It is worth remembering that regular meetings will keep you motivated and will result in bigger progress.
